Developing Our Relationship with God by Pastor Danny

Danny Jacobo is the Pastor of Calvary Pico Rivera.Let's Pray Pico Rivera Praying Man

Prayer is a means for developing a relationship with God.

Prayer is one way of developing the kind of relationship God desires to have with you.

Galatians 4:4-5 tells us;

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

The Father sent His son to remove the barrier of sin and enable a person to come into a relationship with Him. As is the case with any relationship some form of communication must be used in order for that relationship to develop. One way of developing our relationship with the Father is through prayer.

The door to the Father is no longer closed, but wide open. The Father has made Himself accessible to His children. When can we come? According to Hebrews 4, we can come anytime we have need.

Hebrews 4:16 tells us;

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Surely you’ve experienced the blessing of having a friend you can call upon and share what is going on in your life. As you do, your relationship usually grows. The Father would love for you to do that with Him.

Prayer is a great privilege we’ve been given. There is no prayer too big or too small to bring to God. And as we’ve read, there is no “bad time” to call Him.  If something is weighing upon your heart you are encouraged to bring it to God.

We are told in 1 Peter 5:7,

Cast all your care upon Him for He cares for you.

As His child, He is fully aware of what you are going through.  He would love for you to go to Him with anything that’s on your heart.  Prayer can bring you into a place of peace and rest as you trust your heavenly Father to handle the issues you are dealing with.  As a result, your faith in God and love for Him will increase.   Your worship will go to new heights and you will no longer be satisfied with a distant and nearly non-existent relationship with God.  Don’t be a stranger, rather respond to His offer.   Take Him up on His invitation and PRAY!
